Email Campaign Marketing Strategies
Starting an email campaign marketing strategy may seem like a daunting task, but it isn’t really if you break it all down into its constituent parts. You have to have in place something to promote, a product or service, which can be yours, or someone else’s that you will receive a commission from on each sale. There’s really little point in having an email campaign marketing strategy if you have nothing to sell.
The next part of the procedure is the email itself. Actually, there will usually be a number of email messages used as prospects usually don’t become convinced on one exposure alone. Following up with a number of messages, each one elaborating on a different benefit that the prospect will receive, has been proven to be the best way to conduct an email campaign marketing strategy.
Around seven email messages at least are required. They will all be loaded into an autoresponder and the first one will be sent out as soon as the person signs up and confirms their subscription. The rest will follow up over the following few weeks. However, we have gone slightly ahead of ourselves for the prospect has to sign up to receive the messages, and that involves what is sometimes known as a squeeze page.
A squeeze page is a simple web page designed for nothing else than to capture the email address and first name of someone interested in your offer. It will have an enticing headline, followed by some fairly concise benefit laden text. There will be bulleted points, again heavily benefit laden, and these will lead to the optin form where the prospect can enter his or her name and email, clicking the “send” button to submit their information.
A good email campaign marketing strategy will use double optin to safeguard against spam claims. This means that the prospect will receive an email after submitting their information asking them to confirm their intention by clicking a link in the message. This simple procedure is a double safeguard; it guards both the person opting in and person promoting the offer. In fact, email campaigns should not be undertaken without double optin.
Once in the system, the prospect starts receiving email messages all describing the benefits of having the product or service. If the prospect finds that he or she is not interested, they can unsubscribe through a link in the emails. If they buy at some stage, they should be automatically removed from that list and transferred onto a buyers list. They are now more valuable to you as they have proven their ability to give you money. That, after all, is what any good email campaign marketing strategy is really all about!
